February saw a lot of netflix action! Between movies and TV shows I clocked up an insane amount of episodes and hours!
February Binge Watch included the following:
Elena Michaels is the worldsonly female werewolf and she must chose between her new human life and her former life as part of the pack.
Rating: Mature (plenty of sex scenes)
Genre: Thriller, Suspense
Triggers: Gore, Sex, scary,
I loved the Woman of the Otherworld books and was so excited about this series, but I held of watching it as I had a ton of band reviews. Whilst they weren’t all wrong, the acting from Elena was poor, but it did improve as the series went on (think of K-Stew in Twilight that’s what it reminded me of!)
In 17th-century Salem, Massachusetts, unwed mother Mary, gives up her baby to the Devil and initates a plan to use the town’s fear against it.
Set in 17th-century Salem, Massachusetts, explores what really fueled the town’s infamous witch trials, uncovering some dark truths. … Paranoia of witchcraft sends the people of 17th-century Salem into panic
Genre: Horror, Drama
Triggers: Gore, Sex, scary,
This is three seasons and I hated season 2 for some reason. But still watched it. Mary gives her baby to the devil in exchange for witchcraft and sets about taking over the town of Salem. Things don’t go according to plan and it see’s Mary go up against other witches and the likes.
There was a good cast of characters – Mercy was an annoying bitch and Alice well she went form whimpering waif in Season 1 to full on bitch mode by the end of season 3.
I am not sure if there is a fourth season planned but I think it ended on the right note, and I am not sure there could be another based on what happened previously – it would just be a rehash and that would be boring.
Wiley Day has plans. The pregnant teen, daughter of a pastor in the town of Pretty Lake, intends to give up her baby and leave her small-town life behind forever. But when a mysterious virus starts claiming the lives of all the adults in town, the government-imposed quarantine means Wiley must stay put — at least for now. As the living continue to struggle for survival, Wiley and her best friend, whose college plans are also in jeopardy because of the quarantine, know that the only way for them to escape is to try to find the source of the virus.
Genre: Science Fiction, Teen drama
Triggers: Ominous, Dark
Set in a town called Perfect Lake, a mysterious virus is causing the death of anyone over the age of 22 to die. Now granted some of the characters were clearly older than 20 or 21 – Gord and Mark I’m looking and you guys, all that survived where kids and a handful of older teenagers.
I am not sure what I really feel about this series, the premise is definitely one that I can see our governments pulling off, at the end of the day it all about control and money. Wouldn’t be surprised if this is happening already or at least in the future.
Character wise Adam was about as emotional as wet fish! A male equivalent to K-Stewart joining with Elena above in Bitten!
Socially awkward high school student Otis may not have much experience in the lovemaking department, but he gets good guidance on the topic in his personal sex ed course — living with mom Jean, who is a sex therapist. Being surrounded by manuals, videos and tediously open conversations about sex, Otis has become a reluctant expert on the subject. When his classmates learn about his home life, Otis decides to use his insider knowledge to improve his status at school, so he teams with whip-smart bad girl Maeve to set up an underground sex therapy clinic to deal with their classmates’ problems. But through his analysis of teenage sexuality, Otis realises that he may need some therapy of his own.
Genre: Teen drama, comedy, British
Triggers: strong sex scenes
This threw me for a loop when I started watching it. I thought it was american themed, based in Sweden, and set in the 80’s based on the outfits until they pulled out mobile phones! Turns out it is actually filmed in Wales!
I am not sure why they went with the whole 80’s feel to it, but it actually works really well! Past and Modern merged into one.
This has a lot of sex – obviously and you see a lot more than I thought, I am no mean prudish! just wasn’t expecting it. Great series and it ends on a note leaving it open for a second series, which I believe has been given the green light to produce.
