31 Days of Spooky Movies week 2

SO myself and the kids have made a deal to watch 31 spooky movies over the course of the month – with the exception of Tue and Wed nights – as we have swimming and beavers those days so a Tue and a Wed will be my days to watch something more ‘adult’ in terms of horror.

9/10 The Addams Family (animated one again!)

10/10 The Addams Family

Looking for something creepy, spooky, kooky and altogether ooky? When long-lost Uncle Fester (Christopher Lloyd) reappears after twenty-five years in the Bermuda Triangle, Gomez (Raul Julia) and Morticia (Anjelica Huston) plan a celebration to wake the dead. But Wednesday (Christina Ricci) barely has time to warm up her electric chair before Thing points out Fester’s uncharacteristically “normal” behaviour. Could this Fester be a fake, part of a diabolical scheme to raid the Addams fortune?

11/10 The Addams Family Values

It’s love at first sight when Gomez (Raul Julia) and Morticia (Anjelica Houston) welcome a new addition to the Addams household – Pubert, their soft, cuddly, moustachioed baby boy. As Fester (Christopher Lloyd) falls hard for voluptuous nanny Debbie Jilinsky (Joan Cusack), Wednesday (Christina Ricci) and Pugsley (Jimmy Workman) discover she’s a black widow murderess who plans to add Fester to her collection of dead husbands. The family’s future grows even bleaker when the no-good nanny marries Fester and has the kids shipped off to summer camp. But Wednesday has a Thing or two up her sleeve….

12/10 Hotel Transylvania

Welcome to Hotel Transylvania, Dracula’s lavish five-stake resort, where monsters and their families can live it up and no humans are allowed. One special weekend, Dracula (Adam Sandler) has invited all his best friends – Frankenstein and his wife, the Mummy, the Invisible Man, the Werewolf family, and more – to celebrate his beloved daughter Mavis’s (Selena Gomez) 118th birthday. For Dracula, catering to all of these legendary monsters is no problem but the party really starts when one ordinary guy stumbles into the hotel and changes everything!

13/10 Hotel Transylvania 2

Drac’s Pack are back for more Hotel Transylvania fun! Secretly worried that his half-human grandson, Dennis, isn’t showing his vampire side, Drac (Adam Sandler) enlists the help of his friends to put the boy through a “monster-in-training” boot camp.

14/10 Monster House

Even for a 12-year old, D.J. Walters has a particularly overactive imagination. He is convinced that his haggard and crabby neighbour Horace Nebbercracker, who terrorizes all the neighbourhood kids, is responsible for Mrs. Nebbercracker’s mysterious disappearance. Any toy that touches Nebbercracker’s property, promptly disappears, swallowed up by the cavernous house in which Horace lives. D.J. has seen it with his own eyes! But no one believes him, not even his best friend, Chowder. What everyone does not know is D.J. is not imagining things. Everything he’s seen is absolutely true and it’s about to get much worse than anything D.J could have imagined.

What’s your favourite movie out of the above?
