Week 5 of #Project365 (+1)
28th Jan – 3rd February!

28/365 – Sunday 28th January

Had a wee girly day with mum and Lucy. We did some birthday shopping with for Lu then had a bit of lunch at Frankie & Benny’s, it’s been ages since I’ve been there. I got the arrabbiata with hot loaded fries on the side (both vegan) mum got the buttermilk chicken burger and Lu got the Bolognese also a side of garlic pizza.
29/365 – Monday 29th January
I did some last minute birthday shopping for cake and banners this morning, did the present wrapping then did some tidying up as Max was having a friend over after school. Nothing like a last minute tidy up before they got home! Once I dropped his friend home after dinner I set about decorating the living room for Lucy’s birthday tomorrow.
30/365 – Tuesday 30th January

It’s Lucy’s birthday today, I can’t believe that is my last child now in double digits, I feel a certain way knowing that we are in the double digits era now for an the kids. But I am looking forward to seeing them all grow from now to the end of their teenage years (or not once the hormones kick in lol)
She loved her presents, especially the huge Sylvanian house, still no idea where it’s going to live but will cross that bridge another day.
Jack had cadets, and it was his squadron inspection tonight so it was a busy evening after school as had to get his hair cut, collect takeaway of choice for the birthday girl then have his uniform shit hot condition and out the door for 6;30! Of all the times for a birthdays it would have to be today. Usually we would let him off cadets but it was a big night as the squad has won best out of the whole of Scotland and NI and tonight will see them hopefully be in the running for some competition for the whole of the UK!!
31/365 – Wednesday 31st January

So I had to meet with a work coach yesterday to help me get back into work and she set me up with a meeting at an another job centre today to get help to complete an application for a job at the DWP child maintenance service, I was there for hours and still haven’t completed my 500 personal essay!
This application and the interview sounds horrific I’m not going to lie. I’m already stressing about what to write and then what to say if I get to interview stage as it’s over zoom! Also applied for some jobs in Tesco and Home Bargains. I have been a stay a home parent for the last twelve years, so this whole process is nerve racking. But the lady today really helped calm my nerves and draw out all the qualities and skills I have learned in my previous job and also what I have gained as a parent.
32/365 – Thursday 1st February

Today I had my second dentist appointment for another impression (think I forgot to mention it the other week) then my next appointment will be removing the tooth, crown post and fitting the temporary denture
I can’t believe I am getting a denture at 42 years old! But it’s my front incisor and the crown already fitted it starting to fall out after a few weeks of being fixed so since a implant is out of the question due to the cost it’s a single denture will have to do. But going forward after a few months healing a more permanent solution of a bridge might be an option.
So to cheer myself up I managed to get a hold of the Cathedral City Plant Based Lasagne – it may look like a dog dinner but it blooming delicious, slightly over cooked in the micro as I forget that we have a 900w one now instead of the 850w doh!
33/365 – Friday 2nd February
Went back to the JC and completed and sent over the application, she really helped me write that statement on Wednesday I was really like a deer caught in the headlights. But I am proud of that I have written. I mentioned to a family member who works in the Tesco store that I applied to, to give her a head up and she got me set up with an interview tomorrow!! Nervous, scared and excited all the same time!
34/365 – Saturday 3rd February
This has been a mental week! So I applied for a job at Tesco on Thursday and I got an interview today. To say I was nervous was an understatement but happy that I aced the interview – my first after 17years! I was given an heads up on what questions I would be asked and if it wasn’t for writing that personal statement the other day I would have panicked. I went in today nervous but confident with my answers in my head and came away feeling really good about it. So now I wait with fingers and toes crossed.
So I didn’t manage to take many photos this week as I been rather off my normal schedule and everything has happened so fast that I can’t believe its Sunday already. Hopefully next week I will be better. In fact I have discovered a new app from apple called Journal that is allowing me to jot down what happened in the week and then I just copy it into this post at the end of the wee.

Ooh good luck with the job hunting. My mum did the same, SAHM til we were at secondary school, did a couple of evening courses, some temping, and then was back into work til retirement. It’s good you’ve had the support of a business coach.
Happy birthday Lucy. They grow up so fast don’t they.
That pasta looks so good. I’ve not been to Frankie and Benny’s for years, the nearest one to us is miles away.
Happy birthday to Lucy! It sounds like she had a lovely day.
Good luck with the job hunting. I hope the Tesco one works out for you. I have been trying to get a job but it is hard after being a stay at home mum. The job centre won’t help me look for work as my fella earns enough to cover us both which seems unfair. I am sure I’ll find something eventually. x
OOO I haven’t been to Frankie and bennies in along time. Love the birthday set up hope she had lovely day.
That Cathedral City Plant Based Lasagne looks lovely, I would love to try it. The vegan Cathedral cheese is so good, we always get it. Arrabbiata with hot loaded fries?! Wow, you are so brave! I am not too keen on that much spice.
Good luck with the job interviews!
Fingers crossed for your interview!
Those meals look delicious – feels like forever since I had a nice meal out.
How are you finding the journal app? I keep thinking about trying it
Happy Birthday Lucy!!
Glad your interview went well, hopefully you got the job. I worked for Tesco for 16 years from school and I have been back since COVID – 4 years next month! Its a lovely place to work
How lovely to have lunch at Frankie and Benny’s – those loaded fries look amazing. Glad Lucy had a lovely birthday – that’s a big milestone being in double digits and I can imagine it must be bittersweet for you being your last child in double digits. Well done on your interview with Tesco and good luck with getting the job. #project365
