Week 8 #Project365 (+1) 18th Feb – 24th Feb

49/365 – Sunday 18th

Third shift down this week and I am enjoying it so far! I managed to do a wee bit of shopping after my shift and snagged this vegan ready meal, I have been wanting to try it for ages but not at £4.20 so a yellow label makes it a bit better lol. It was actually quite nice and truth be told I could probably make this at home pretty easily. Sunday is my12-6pm shift, and its quite a quiet shift, with lulls before manic buying.
50/365 – Monday 19th

Jobs seem to be coming like buses! I just got word today that I have been selected for an interview for the DWP child maintenance dept, I applied right when I first saw my work coach, but never imagined I would get called for an interview, and now I am in a quandary as I am not sure if I really even want that job – if I pass the interview that is. Yeah it is a great job money wise with some hybrid working flexibility, but I am quite happy with Tesco I can go in do a shift and leave.
51/365 – Tuesday 20th

We are all loaded up with a horrendous cold, so Lucy was off school today as she was feeling a little sick and generally feeling like crap. I had work but thankfully Lee was ay home working so he was with her. She was fine by the time I got home.
I finally got my full uniform today, so I have trousers, more top and a jacket. I am a fully fledged Tesco worker now, well actually I just need my name badge.
52/365 – Wednesday 21st
Max’s turn to be off today! He was actually a bit worse compared to Lucy but I just loaded him with Calpol, water and tissues and come night time he was on the mend. I did a food shop today at Aldi (traitor lol) I went at 9am and I was home by 9:45am that has got to be my quickest run yet!
53/365 – Thursday 22nd

All the kids are at school today! Still a little snotty but certainly it seems to just be a 24 hour thing that can be fixed with Calpol, hall soothers and Vicks vapour rub. So many people I have been chatting to whilst on the check out have been feeling that same way, so there is definitely something going about. And for once it’s probably me bringing home the bug for a change!
I did an extra shift today 9am-3pm, which was really good actually getting home just as the kids did after school. Lucy wanted to go shopping for makeup (of all things) so we hit up Superdrug before dinner since we wont have time at the weekend, plus I’m working on Sunday.
54/365 – Friday 23rd

The bad thing about working the checkout is seeing all the stuff that comes down the belt, I clocked these sloth PJ that someone was buying and I my sloth obsessed mind just knew that I had to find them! Only when I got home did I realise that I had picked up the wrong size!! instead of a 12/14 I ended up with a 20/22! To be honest the top is fine to wear as its like a baggy t-shirt but the bottom obviously not. I think I may be able to pin tuck them smaller but will have to see.
55/365 – Saturday 24th

Jack was out at his girlfriends today so he missed yet another lunch out with us. This time we went to a local pub/bar and managed to bag the last table, as the rugby was on it was getting busy. I had this amazing Buddha Bowl Chipotle Beef Chili (veganised) it was delicious, I wish I had asked what alternative meat they used so I could by some. The kids had hot dog and mac n cheese and Lee got a massive bowl of Nachos also with the Chipotle Beef.

I am glad work is going well. I bet getting the yellow label things are a real bonus, that meal looks so good.
Ohh! That is a quandary about the job interview. You could go and see what they are offering.
I hope you are all feeling better now with the cold. I thought I was getting one over the weekend but it was actually hay fever which seems mad at this time of year. lol
Those sloth pj’s are so cute.
Amazing that you got offered another interview – good luck with making decisions over what to do. Sorry to hear that you’ve all had a horrendous cold this week – hope everyone is feeling better now. Oops to getting the wrong size of the sloth pyjamas! Hope you can pin tuck the bottoms and make them smaller. #project365
I’d spend more than I earn if I worked in a shop for sure. Hope you can sort the pjs out. Well done getting offered another job interview, good luck with it and any decisions.
Glad the job is going well. Nice to know you’re getting interviews, although you might not want the job. I guess it’s what’s working now, and what might work longer term if you want to progress.
