Updating Your Wardrobes: The Essentials

Whether you’re trying a new style, or it’s simply time for a spring clean, most of us could benefit from condensing our wardrobes. Over the years we accumulate clothing that is the wrong size, style, or fit. It may have been perfect at one point, but does your wardrobe reflect you now? If not it’s time to edit your collection to the essentials. Having a capsule wardrobe, of different pieces that work together, will save you space and money- not to mention time in the mornings!

Starting with the first item of clothing we put on- underwear. Buying new underwear can sometimes feel like a bit of an extravagance, but this shouldn’t be the case. We should all be regularly updating our underwear collections. Not only does great underwear help us to feel good, it’s also important for any outfit. If you’re planning on going for a run or to the gym, wear a comfortable sports bra. If you want to impress, opt for some lingerie. Tutti Rouge lingerie is a great range. Alternatively, for day to day, choose attractive but comfortable designs. Get yourself measured regularly to ensure you’re wearing the right size bra too!

A White Tee

This may sound like a pretty basic item of clothing but it’s an essential! The trusty plain white tee can be dressed up or down and is endlessly versatile. Team with skinny jeans, a sharp blazer and boots for an evening out look. Alternatively wear the tee with a pair of boyfriend cut light-wash denim jeans and pumps for a cool but casual weekend look.

Little Black Dress

We all know that a wardrobe staple is the little black dress. A dress that can be worn at formal occasions, and looks and makes us feel, great. The idea of the LBD has extended though. Everyone should own at least one dress that they love. Whether it’s black or not! That elusive transformative dress that elevates our mood whatever the occasion, is a wardrobe must-have.

The slip on variety have been a huge hit recently, and you can see why! These comfortable shoes are easy to store, and even easier to style. Slip them on with any outfit for a luxe sports look. They’re practical enough to walk and run around in, but much more stylish than traditional trainers.

Everyone should own a pair of trousers that can instantly smarten up a look. Pair with a blouse, tee, or even a vest, and achieve the perfect, work-play look to take you from day to night. Whether it’s comfy culottes or cigarette pants, choose a trouser that compliments your style. Choose navy, black, or grey, so they can be paired with lots of different tops and shoes. Opt for tailored trousers if you want to achieve a more formal look. Shoe boots, flats, and heels all work well with trousers too.
