The Square, Kintore Review
Last weekend hubby had a half day wedding up in Inverurie, so we’re decided to make a wee weekend break of it. Mum kindly looked after the kids for us, which was hard as Max was still not feeling well! But she said they were all no bother.
We booked accommodation in this cute little place called Kintore, which was 15 mins away from the wedding venue, for the Friday and Saturday night. I was working until 5 PM on the Friday so it was a quick change and pack then about a 3hour drive.
The Square was super helpful and ok with us being a (very) late check in- I think we got there about 10pm! We were both knackered so grabbed some sandwiches from the local Sainsbury’s before it closed and then headed to bed.
The accommodation:
The room was cozy, absolutely loved the wallpaper. It was a double bed and so comfy – I had the best night sleep ages and didn’t wake up with ac sore neck! Need to find out what pillows they had as since I’ve been home my neck is sore again!
And I digress, the room features awesome wallpaper, one of those industrial wall rail things to hang your clothes and jacket, ample plug sockets at a tv. Also provided was a kettle and some teas, coffee and biscuits.
The view:
Once morning came we could get a better feel for the village in the daylight – and we had very quiet neighbours!
The food:
I got to sample the lunch menu on my own since Lee was working and I got the Club Sandwich – delicious and the chips were just the best ever! Treated myself to a cheeky we cider as well.
For our evening meal I got the vegetable chilli and Lee got the battered haddock both were again amazing! Totally forgot to get a pic of the haddock but it was a fairly big portion. And for pudding it was a Honeycomb Pavlova.
