This week’s theme is CHRISTMAS TRADITIONS
We don’t actually have many traditions but I am starting some and there are some I would like to start. So here is my wee list for this week.
Growing up we didn’t really have any traditions that we did as a family, other than I was the one to decorate the tree every year, will help when I was younger obviously. I don’t think hubby had any either…. I want Christmas to be a magical time for the kids so I am looking to start some traditions.
Our Current Traditions
1. Elf on the Shelf
This is only our second year doing elf on the shelf, and to be honest I find the wee guy quite creepy but hey the kids love him. We don’t do the mischievous elf – I just move him to different places doing different things, but so far nothing mischievous. Its getting hard to come up with something new every night but so far so good.
2. A new decoration for the tree
Again only been doing this one for a short time – since 2011 to be exact. I am going to buy one new decoration each year until the tree is filled with them π When I get one I write the date on the back here is my wee collection so far:
Want to start:
3. Xmas eve box
I want to do a box that the kids on Xmas eve from the Elf with new jammies, a book and some other various bits and bobs depending on how good they have been π
4. North Pole Breakfast on Xmas eve
I hear a lot of talk of this form american friends and blogs etc and I want to start doing this with the kids on Xmas eve when we say goodbye to our Elf Ben. I am not 100% sure what goes into a NPB so it will be starting ext year when Lucy is at least at little older to understand.
I am looking forward to seeing what your traditions are (and possible steal some;) )

Aw you are in that wonderful, magical stage where you get to watch the wonder of Christmas through your babies eyes. It sounds like you are making a great start with your family’s own traditions. I hope you have a wonderful holiday season!
That sounds pretty cool the Christmas eve box. Tell you the truth the north pole breakfast sounds interesting.
